    • Liu Xue 'Black'. Dongfeng Race Team. Black started sailing when he was 13 when his uncle, who was part of the national sailing squad in China, showed him pictures of racing yachts and it fired his imagination. His Dongfeng journey in the 2014-15 edition was not without twists and turns, and at one point he walked away from the team, not convinced he had what it takes to do the race. However, he came back and earned a place on board for four legs of the race in the 2014-15 edition. Previous Volvo Ocean Races: 2014-15 Dongfeng Race Team Photo by Ainhoa Sanchez/Volvo Ocean Race

    • Dongfeng Race Team. Kevin Escoffier. Bowman Escoffier is an accomplished ocean racer with a technical mind and practical skills that make him an invaluable member of the squad. Having gained a reputation as Dongfeng’s ‘Mr Fix It’ in 2014-15 due to his ability in dealing with a series of unlucky breakages onboard – including the mast and the watermaker – the Frenchman will be hoping for less taxing DIY schedule in 2017-18.
