    • Sun Hung Kay Scallywag. Alex Gough. A veteran of three Sydney-Hobart races, Gough started out as a sailmaker and has progressed to racing boats internationally. While working onboard a yacht in Asia, he met Scallywag skipper David Witt, who introduced him to the Volvo Ocean Race campaign.

    • Sun Hung Kay Scallywag. Ben Piggott. Unassuming but highly talented and just 21 years old, Ben Piggott is the youngest sailor confirmed for the Volvo Ocean Race 2017-18. After taking an unplanned gap year, he found his way to a boatyard and quickly made the step onboard as a bowman on Scallywag's 100ft super maxi. He's since racked up over 45,000 miles offshore doing delivery trips – but he still jokes that the thought of doing the Volvo Ocean Race is 'insane'.

    • Sun Hung Kay Scallywag. David Witt. ‘Witty’ is known as a straight shooter on and off the water. The Australian honed his skills in some of the roughest waters in the world, with over 20 appearances to his name in the Sydney to Hobart Race. His first Volvo Ocean Race experience came in 1997-98 with Knut Frostad and after a long gap he can’t wait to get back into the Southern Ocean and test himself once again in the most remote and extreme regions on the planet. He brings with him a ready-made, solid and experienced Scallywag crew from the 100ft Super Maxi campaign. • Sun Hung Kay Scallywag. Luke Parkinson. ‘Parko’ is a Volvo Ocean Race winner, having lifted the trophy at his first attempt onboard Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing in 2014-15. As the youngest member of Ian Walker's crew, he sailed every leg of the successful campaign. He also competed in the America's Cup with Artemis Racing before joining Scallywag for 2017-18 to reunite with David Witt, who gave him his start in professional racing. • Sun Hung Kay Scallywag. Steve Hayles. Who he is: A Volvo Ocean Race veteran, Hayles made his debut onboard Reebok/Dolphin and Youth in 1993-94, and is still the youngest ever navigator in the race's history. He went on to make it five consecutive races over 15 years, onboard Silk Cut in 1997-98, Team Tyco in 2001-02, Ericsson Racing Team in 2005-06 and Green Dragon in 2008-09, and returns to the event with Scallywag after almost a decade away. His skipper David Witt calls him 'the best navigator I've ever sailed with'. That’s quite a vote of confidence, considering Witt’s experience! • Sun Hung Kay Scallywag. Tiger Mok. As Hong Kong's only participant in the race, Tiger carries a nation's hopes on his shoulders. He has previously raced the Sydney-Hobart onboard Beau Geste and the China Sea Race with Seawolf, and comes into the race hoping to prove that he can make the step up to the next level of offshore racing. As well as racing some legs, he will serve as Shore Manager, as well as Shore Weather Support and back up Navigator.
