An accomplished sailor who has competed in three Olympic Games, two Volvo Ocean Races and was named ISAF Sailor of the Year, Carolijn Brouwer returns for a third crack at the Volvo Ocean Race. Her stunning speed driving the boat in 2014-15, particularly in In-Port Races and Leg Starts, caught the eye of Charles Caudrelier and she is now eager for a real shot at the title.

A long-term member of the Ragamuffin and Scallywag super maxi crews, Fisher had plenty of big boat experience and had sailed with skipper David Witt for many years. A Sydney-Hobart veteran, he made the step into the Volvo Ocean Race world for the first time in 2017-18.

Martine lines up for her first Volvo Ocean Race having made her name on the Olympic circuit – and in 2016, she took gold in her home Olympic Games in Rio, clinching the win alongside sailing partner Kahena Kunze in front of thousands of fans in Guanabara Bay. Although this is her first time competing in the Volvo Ocean Race, she's no stranger to the event. Her father, Torben Grael – as well as being Brazil’s most successful Olympic sailor, with five medals – has taken part in the race three times, and won the 2008-09 edition as skipper of Ericsson 4.

Rhode Island native Charlie Enright returns to the Volvo Ocean Race for a second consecutive edition following a debut campaign as skipper of Team Alvimedica in 2014-15. He made his name starring in the Disney movie 'Morning Light' alongside long-term sailing partner Mark Towill, and now the pair lead Vestas 11th Hour Racing in a joint mission to win the Volvo Ocean Race and promote sustainability.
