The new mark is subject to ratification by the World Sailing Speed Record Council. ....PUMA (Ken Read/USA),in second place,has covered 561 nm,just short of ABN AMRO TWOÕs record. The new mark translates into an incredible average speed of 24.71 knots in conditions not best suited for a record-setting run.....The Volvo Ocean Race 2008-09 will be the 10th running of this ocean marathon.
