Skipper Chris Nicholson and Tony Rae look on as we pass Fernando de Noronha on Day 13 - The island of Fernando de Noronha is located on the northeast of Brazil,360km away from the city of Natal,Rio Grande do Norte; and 545km away from Recife,Pernambuco. The island is approximately four degrees south of the Equator. It’s a compulsory waypoint on the Leg 1 from Alicante to Cape Town,and all boats must leave it on port side.
